The HS Counselling office is the focal point for students looking for a range of things, from information on a university visit or summer college experience, to a quick break with a cookie and a great view.

The start of the school year in ECC is always filled with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. To help students settle into their new learning environment teachers spend the first month focusing on establishing classroom routines, building a strong class community, and forming positive relationships with teachers and peers.

We are now in our third year of MAP testing and are preparing to begin the first round of testing for this year. More information will be available in a parent information session.

As Shenzhen's only First Lego League team, we had the honor of representing SIS and our city at the China National FLL Competition. One of the Diving Dolpha-Bots, Isaac Lee, was inspired to reflect upon his experience.

On May 17, after completing their IB exams and before their graduation, SIS seniors who participated in the IB physics course went to Disneyland to learn physics while having fun.

Ms. Erlendson's kindergarten (KC) class took animal research a step further by adding a social impact component along with focusing on a common core standard that calls for exploration around production and distribution of writing.

In mid-May, the ECC hosted its 3rd annual art exhibition. Known as #eccphoto, this art collaborative involves schools from around the world in a collaborative and creative process.

Since 2015 Little Builders has offered LEGO Education as an after school activity (ASA) at SIS. This program educates and captivates students from kindergarten up to grade 5 with a fun and rewarding experience for students and us!

Senior Jonathan Sung is the recipient of a National Merit Special scholarship. As Jonathan heads off to UCLA in the fall he reflected on his time at SIS.

The 9th and 10th grade Social Studies team, in conjunction with the Learning Innovation Team, produced an exhibition of student work called Parallel Wars at Bayside on Friday, May 5th.

On Friday April 21st, Grade 4 students participated in the annual 4th Grade AMPed Fair on Level 5. Parents, teachers, and other students attended the fair adding to the excitement.

From 20-22 April, twelve middle school students travelled to Guangzhou to represent SIS at the annual South East Asia Strings Honour Orchestra Festival.

Recently, we celebrated couple of Field Days in the Elementary School. We were extremely lucky with the weather and students had a blast.

For the 2nd year in a row, 8th Grade Students created the Technological Impact Museum and Exhibit, TIMEII. This year the museum was called "TIMEII: A Shenzhen Story".

On April 5th, 10 of our SIS MS Choir members traveled to Jakarta Intercultural School in Indonesia to participate in the AMIS Middle School Honor Boys' and Girls' Choir Festival.

This year's Bayside Play "Absolutely Murder" ran for three performances this week. The students had a great time recreating the ambiance of Guernsey LaPelley's 1958 mystery.

The last six weeks, 5th grade students have been busy learning about movers and shakers. Movers and shakers are people who make an impact to the world around them, both in big ways and small ways.

The best way to discover the joys of reading is to have a story come to life! To support our school wide Book Week and build a love of reading, our PSA sponsored Bringing Books to Life for our ECC, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students.

SIS values reading. The elementary school celebrated reading and books the week of March 13 - 17 and 20 - 24. A variety of enjoyable events happened during our celebration.

SIS Robotics Team participated in the FFL Robotics competition in Shanghai on March 10. Our students not only won awards, but also gained confidence and experience.

On Tuesday, March 7th, students from grade 6 to 9 took part in the biannual SIS science exhibition. This celebration of science learning gave students a chance to explore a science or engineering topic of their own choosing.

From March 1st to March 5th, 17 students and two teachers traveled to Beijing to participate in the 24th annual BEIMUN conference, a Model United Nations simulation hosted by the International School of Beijing.
