Classroom Without Walls: ECLC 2 Children Explores Splendid China!

Chinese New Year is just around the corner.  What is the best way for young children to learn about a foreign culture? Through hands-on immersive exploration! So last Tuesday, all ECLC 2 classes went to explore one of Shenzhen’s Cultural theme parks, Splendid China. Our task was to document our experiences on how Chinese New Year is celebrated and get a glimpse of China’s historical structures, dances and the people’s way of life in small towns. Armed with iPads, we took photos of the Chinese decorations, drew pictures of the grand palaces and worked together to grind corn into corn flour! What a great hands-on learning experience!
