We send a heartfelt farewell to the following valued SIS administrators and teachers as they move to the next chapter of their professional and personal lives:
Matt Johnson (Elementary Assistant Principal)
Thank you to the entire SIS community for your welcoming spirit, unwavering dedication, and caring ways over the past four years. This is a bitter-sweet moment for me and my family as we prepare to go "home" next year and continue our educational journey at Seoul Foreign School in Korea. The experiences gained and friendships garnered throughout my time at SIS are priceless and I will miss you all dearly. All the best and keep shooting for the stars!
Kasey Burns (ECC Director)
After 6 wonderful years at SIS I will be moving with my family to a different ISS school in Bahrain for the next academic year. I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to all the families, students, teachers and staff who have made our time here so special. We will miss you all dearly and will continue to follow the #SISrocks journey from afar.
Anton Musker (Grade 3 teacher)
Dear Students, Parents and Staff, thank you for making feel welcome in the SIS community for the past two years. It has been an interesting experience getting to know a different style of education from my own, with lively groups of students. 谢谢大家。
Rachel Brooker (Secondary Assistant Principal)
After 12 amazing years here at SIS I will be returning to the UK with my family. I am excited for the new adventures ahead but will miss SIS so very much both professionally and personally. SIS is such a special place, its caring community and its focus on the best teaching and learning. I have loved my time here and look forward to continuing to hear about the great things happening at SIS.
Alex Guitierrez (Learning Innovation Coach)
You've been an amazing family these past six years. It's truly been a pleasure to grow, learn and work alongside you. We will miss Shekou and the community of people that helped make our time here so special. Lydia, Colette and myself are off to our next adventure back in the United States. We wish you the very best and look forward to when our paths cross again.
Always a gecko,
Lydia Mangle (Prek2 teacher)
I have loved calling Shenzhen and SIS home for the past 6 years. My time here has been full of amazing experiences. 6 groups of inspiring students, wonderful colleagues, and such a caring community! I will be moving to the U.S.A with my husband and daughter at the end of this school year, but look forward to seeing all of the continued amazingness at SIS in the future.
Doris King (Elementary Chinese teacher)
After 20 wonderful years at SIS I will be leaving to start my own business in the future. I will miss SIS and all the families, students and staff who have made my time here so special. SIS will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to staying in touch.
Mary Zhou (ECC Teaching Assistant)
I have been working for SIS since 2007. I really appreciate that I have had the opportunity to work with young children. Our ECC is the best team, we work together, we support each other, and we care about one another like a family. All these moments will be treasured in my memory and I will miss all of you! I wish that SIS keeps growing and that everyone has the chance to be their best selves.
Carlene Hamley (Director of Curriculum & Learning)
For the past 3 years I have been working as the Director of Curriculum and Learning, thoroughly enjoying my time in this role, in particular establishing a more robust parent learning focus at SIS. So whilst I am leaving this position, I am not leaving the school or the area, but shifting down the Gateside hallway to work for ISS (International School Services). ISS owns and manages SIS and my role there will be working with many of the ISS existing and new schools within the Asia region as Director of School Development. So you will definitely still see me around and I look forwards to continuing to be part of the SIS community.
