The best way to discover the joys of reading is to have a story come to life! To support our school wide Book Week and build a love of reading, our PSA sponsored Bringing Books to Life for our ECC, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students.Yesterday morning, the entire Mountainside Campus was transformed into activities and adventures inspired by our favorite books like Going on a Bear Hunt, Knuffle Bunny, Shark in the Park, Piggy and Elephant, the Gruffalo, Charlotte's Web and many more. Our PSA parents shared their creativity, time, and love to design each station.Classes from Nursery through Grade 1 enjoyed a variety of challenges such as scavenger hunts and obstacle courses, art and design projects, read alouds and reenactments, and even snacks and treats inspired by their favorite books. As the children rotated though the different stations, they experienced the feelings of the book characters and settings. While offering fun and excitement, this event also helped to build their early literacy foundations. Each station helped our young readers to make strong connections with the story plots, settings, and characters, building their comprehension and love of reading. In addition to the event, each classroom received a selection of new books from the PSA.We are fortunate to enjoy such a strong partnership with families and incredible support through our PSA. Thank you for all your time, creativity, dedication, and effort to make this event such a success. Our PSA rocks!!!
