November 11 - 15, ECLC and Elementary Students celebrated the love of reading and books.
It is quite possible that your child came home on November 11, and announced that he or she had met Little Red Riding Hood, “the Pigeon”, Harry Potter, Rapunzel and many other famous book characters at school! Kindergarten to Grade 5 students participated in a Mystery Monday book character search following a Book Week assembly. The Mystery Monday search involved being observant, asking questions and using clues to find and identify characters who we have met in books. The students did a fantastic job of working together to find the characters. Thanks to our supportive teachers, and volunteers from our amazing staff and parent community the event was a success.
Book Week continued with a different theme each day. Tuesday Tales, Wacky Wednesday, Thursday Reading Buddies and Friday Favorites were among just some of the exciting events which happened. Each class was highly engaged and adapted their week to match their needs.
The love of reading and sharing of books, in our school community, was the main goal of our week.
