In ECC, our International Celebrations are in full swing! Our young students in Nursery, PreK 1 and PreK 2 are learning about the world through the cultural elements they enjoy most: stories, music, crafts, art, dance, games and sport, and food. In each classroom, our parents are actively involved as they visit classrooms to share their home culture. Moms, dads, and grandparents have joined in classrooms to lead cooking and art activities, teach songs, read stories, play games from their childhood, and more.
In addition to our classroom learning, our ECC PSA sponsored and organized three "internationally themed" field trips this week to support our ECC International Celebrations. On Monday, Nursery students and families enjoyed a Family Picnic at Shenzhen Bay Park. Families shared culturally diverse snacks and activities. Our PSA moms from other ECC grade levels joined to organize and set up interactive activity stations for the Nursery children and their parents to enjoy.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, PreK 1 and PreK 2 students were treated to a visit to Window of the World. Our PSA generously sponsored all student and staff admissions, and a train ride around the park. Window of the World offered our young students an opportunity to see replicas of famous sites from all over the world, and to point with pride as they recognized familiar monuments. The experience created rich early literacy experiences as children actively engaged in map reading and a "scavenger hunt" for monuments.
We'd like to thank our parents and our PSA for so actively and generously supporting our ECC International Celebrations. A strong partnership with parents and our PSA - in the classroom and beyond - creates wonderfully robust learning opportunities for our youngest SIS students!
