SIS Hosts Parent Workshops
Posted 08/17/2016 08:21AM

The Curriculum and Learning team are excited to be offer parents some wonderful opportunities to actively learn more about our program here at SIS. Over the coming months we will have a variety of dates and times available for you to attend workshops and be a part of your child's learning journey.

We will be hosting two main types of workshops for you to attend:

  1. Drop In & Learn Sessions: these are short (approximately 30-40min) sessions designed for you to learn and participate in an active workshop based on a specific topic. These sessions will repeat throughout the day allowing you flexibility on when you wish to attend.

2. Deep Dive Workshops: These workshops are approximately an hour long and take an in-depth exploration on a specific subject or topic. They are still designed for you to be an active participant as you learn but will allow you to learn and go a little deeper with the topic of the workshop.

Every year we also host several consultants at SIS who are specifically selected based on their expertise in their field, to come and work with our teachers in a variety areas and subjects. This year we are excited to announce that when a visiting consultant works with our teachers and in our school, they will also be leading some parent sessions that you can attend and learn just as our teachers do.

All of these efforts are designed to continue to strengthen the support we all give to our children as we help them navigate their way through their learning journey at SIS. By being transparent in our shared knowledge and creating opportunities for further learning we know that our children are fully supported during their time at SIS.

We look forward to your attendance and the chance to learn together. Below are some initial key dates to save. There will be more to come! Stay tuned!
