Here at SIS we are very to lucky have access to cutting edge technology to use for learning purposes. This is not the case for many schools within our region as there are a number of schools that have very little or no access at all to computers to aid teachers in developing skills of communication or collaboration. Recently, the IT department went through a process of revamping older desktop machines and, using spare parts, managed to construct over 30 working machines. While these had limited use at SIS, Robert Park imagined how we could continue our relationship with 贵州省三都水族自治县民族中等职业技术学校 (Sandu Shui Autonomous County of Guizhou Province Ethnic Secondary Vocational Technical Schools) and deliver these machines for them to construct two dedicated computer labs. SIS has worked with Guizhou in the past on service projects such as the Global Issues Network biogas program, as well as the 9th grade WWW service trip to the province. SIS hopes to continue this relationship in the future to help have a positive impact on student learning in the region.
