Howdy Gecko Parents!
Mr. Knudsen here, the HS PE and Life Skills teacher! I think SIS is full of great opportunities to learn not only in school but now outside. This year breeds a new opportunity for our students. After talking with Mr. Livingston, a PADI Certification trip has been approved for this Spring Break from March 26th to April 1st. This will be the tentative date, but more will come out throughout January, so please ask your student to keep up with the news.
I will be in charge of a group of SIS students that will go to Sapi Island in Kota Kinabalu. Don't worry, if your child has a PADI Open Water Diving Certification, they can always work towards their Advanced certification! Diving is a wonderful life skill to acquire, not only because there are a number of great places there is to dive that are close to Shekou, but because it is a lifestyle activity that can help keep up activity levels!
This Thursday will be the first meeting for students, but I'll start to post on my blog and you can visit www.physeddude.com for more information! We need at least 10 students to proceed and currently, I have responses back from seven students, so have a talk with your son or daughter and see if they're interested in joining us!
