This year during one or more rotating advisory days, the Learning Innovation Team has been implementing Autonomy, Mastery, Purpose Education projects, or AMPed projects for short. During AMPed project hour, students have been able to explore their interests and passions and create something tangible to present to their peers as well as the rest of the SIS community. This concept is very similar to what many would call 20% time, time that businesses allot for their employees to work on interest projects. Companies like 3M and Google contractually implement this into their engineers' schedules to boost creativity and innovation.
On Tuesday, May 19 students showcased their projects to the SIS community at the Bayside Campus and demonstrated how engaging, relevant and powerful interest based learning can be.
