Grade One is learning Chinese in a Fun way!
Posted 04/30/2014 12:02PM

The first graders have been exploring My Healthy Life in CAL (Chinese as Additional Language) class, and fruit is one of the related topics. At the end of this topic, students are able to recite the name of the fruit and describe how it tastes.

In class, we learned about fruit through different activities, e.g. songs, stories, games, handcraft, iPad. We sang fruit songs and made movements to the rhymes. We played games. In group work, we had our eyes covered, and found the fruit that our friends named. When we did partner work, we guessed the fruit that our partner was hiding. We also learned the names of various fruit through iPad Chinese apps and self study. Our next step is to make an individual book about healthy eating and describe it to each other.
