EAL Parent Coffee Morning
Posted 01/29/2014 09:03AM
As we start the new year, the elementary school EAL team would like to invite all parents to join us for an informative session about our EAL program at SIS. English language learners at SIS receive daily support from their homeroom teachers as well as the EAL team. Come and hear how our Sheltered Immersion Model(SIM) is unique and allows for students with all language abilities to develop their English language skills, both academic and social, within the mainstream curriculum. We will also explore how students are being supported through the use of technology and the strategies they are equipped with to become independent learners, as well as touch upon the importance of a strong first language and its crucial role in the development of any additional language.
We hope you can stop by for a cup of coffee and an opportunity to learn about our EAL program at SIS.
