This program is comprised of 5 Institutes designed to expand teachers' understanding of the Common Core Standards, how students learn mathematical concepts, progressions across grade levels, and evidence of student understanding.

Sonia Leong was at the Bayside campus from January 21-22. This well known manga artist led students in how-to workshops on storyboarding in English classes and basic illustration in art classes. She also gave a demonstration of her work and answered questions in an all-campus assembly.

SIS hosted a workshop based on inquiry and assessment in the PreK-Grade 2 years. Facilitating this workshop was Holly Reardon, a professional development specialist and Head of the Early Childhood Department at The Western Academy of Beijing.
