An important part of learning is being able to review and learn from work that has already been completed. In KC Kindergarten class, one of the ways the children do this is to use their own QR code to view their own and their peers work.
Samples of completed work or work in progress are placed on each child’s You Tube playlist and from there they are able to access it via a QR code which is displayed on the wall. They are also able to access the class playlist which has all the songs, learning videos we have watched and projects we have completed, listed on it.
By being able to access their own playlist the children enjoy sharing their work with others, seeing what their peers have on their playlist and communicating to each other about what they have viewed, evaluating and giving feedback in a very natural and child-like way. They have their own digital portfolio that is accessible to them at any time!
The class playlist has proved very popular as they can review songs, listen to stories and generally revisit some of the things we have viewed in class. They have the freedom to view what it is that interests them and continue learning at the same time.
This type of instant access to their own work has proved very popular in our class and it is often one of the first places they go to when they have an iPad in their hands!
