I wanted to write about homework in this edition of the Weekly but when I realized all of the activities that our Parent Support Association (PSA) has planned, I decided to dedicate this space to thanking our PSA and all the parents that make SIS a community. As a parent and an educator, I understand the value that parent involvement brings to a school, from students feeling delight at seeing their parents on campus to teachers benefitting from an extra pair of hands in the classroom to the wide variety of events that PSA organizes. I have been awed at the level of involvement and dedication of our parents and the community feeling that this inspires. Our students directly benefit from this nurturing, caring partnership.
Yesterday evening, PSA organized a social evening for our middle and high school parents. This weekend PSA has a family movie night planned for Saturday evening and on Sunday they have organized the cardboard challenge for families at Level 5. And don't forget the day of fun and food on December 2nd at the Winter Bazaar. In between all of these activities, our parents are popping corn and planning Halloween events.
So, thank you to our PSA and all our parent volunteers for their passion and dedication.
