SIS is a place where sharing happens. Last week, SIS Elementary and Early Childhood students had the opportunity to read one another's incredible written work in a temporary library that was created on Level 5 at the Jingshan campus. Students submitted their written work which was then organized by parent volunteers in a space named the Literacy Lounge. It was fantastic to watch our students visit the Literacy Lounge and be able to appreciate writing created by fellow students. The variety of work was vast and added to the appeal of this engaging and authentic literary experience. Our student writers work hard to improve their skills and express themselves creatively. Their development in literacy is continuous and inspiring to witness.
SIS is a supportive and caring community where sharing and creativity are valued! In addition to all the work being displayed and read, many students chose to write messages of appreciation and encouragement to fellow student authors during their visit.
Thank you to our teachers for creating the conditions in which our students develop their writing skills and the confidence to share what they create. The amount of effort, expertise, and support provided to our students in the area of writing was evident in the work that was shared.
Thank you to our supportive parent community. Many parents gave their time to come and set-up and take-down our amazing Literacy Lounge space that was created for the week of March 14.
