Now that the second semester has begun, we will begin preparing Grade 10 students to make important decisions for their Junior and Senior years. One of the more important decisions students will make is the selection of IB courses that will best meet their abilities, needs and future plans. We invite parents to join us at Bayside on February 4th to learn more. The presentation will begin at 6:00pm and run to approximately 7:00pm, after which there will be time for questions. We will have teachers from each of the IB Knowledge Groups provide a brief overview of the subjects available and a big picture overview of course objectives. Students will eventually select three subjects at the Higher Level, three subjects at the Standard Level and the mandatory IB Core Subjects in order to obtain their full IB diploma.
The process for choosing IB subjects for the current Grade 10 will begin on Thursday February the 4th with an information presentation on each of the IB subjects as well as offering important information regarding the student support process for this important phase. Following the parent presentation, Grade 10 Advisory blocks will be used to provide further individualized advice and guidance on the IB courses available and the process of subject selection.
We hope to have subject choices completed for all students by Friday, February the 26th.
