The first Sports Awards Night for 2015-16 was held in the Bayside Amphitheatre on the night of Dec 9th. The night started with coaches of the various middle and high school sports holding personalised celebrations with their teams. Teams shared pizzas and highlights from their seasons, memorable moments and individual stories of hard work, resilience, triumph and teamwork. Many coaches gave out awards in recognition of their team members' contribution to the team be it on or off the field or court. This was a fantastic time of celebration for each of the teams to finish off some fantastic achievement during the season.
After this, the teams convened to a full Bayside amphitheatre alongside the many parents that joined to be part of the Sports Awards night. Sports that were part of the awards night included MS Badminton, MS Football, MS Touch Rugby, MS/HS Cross Country, MS/HS Golf and HS Volleyball. Each coach for the various boys and girls team gave the crowd a summation of their season's achievements which culminated with each coach giving out 3 awards of specific recognition: Most Improved Players, Most Valuable Player and the much honoured Coaches Award. Many coaches became very emotional when sharing fun, meaningful and memorable moments from the season and presenting the awards to their players. At the end of each coach's presentation they were joined by their full team on stage for one final get together and photo opportunity before returning to the packed audience.
The many outstanding team performances from the first season of 2015-16 were easy to see from the many trophies on display.
