Boys' Basketball Team Shuts Down the Timberwolves

The Geckos basketball teams travelled down to Canadian International School in Hong Kong this past weekend for the annual CDNIS invitational tournament. Last year, the boys made it to the finals, but were unable to prevail against an older and more mature Chinese International School team. This year they were back, hoping to improve upon last year's result and take home the championship trophy.
The tournament started at a feverish pace, as the Geckos outgunned cross-town rivals QSI to get their opening win for the tournament, followed by a win against the Cobras of Surabaya Internationals School. Although their first loss of the season came at the hands of United Nations International School in Hanoi, the boys team quickly bounced back to post a two point victory against a very disciplined CDNIS team, ensuring their place in the finals. During the final game (a repeat against the Timberwolves of CDNIS) the Geckos got an early lead and never looked back. Hitting clutch free throws down the stretch, they silenced the hometown crowd, and achieved what they had been working towards for an entire year. Now they set their sites on preparing for Tianjin in February for the end-of-seasons ACAMIS tournament.
Here is how the SIS Gecko team feels:
"We noticed that it is better to go hard in the paint than to shoot 3's all day" - Nitay Bar-El
"We let the offense just happen now" - Sasha Wilson
"We wanted it more than the other teams. The intensity that we played at was unmatched" - Javier Wong
"We played together, we played as a team, we played as one." - Ji Ho Lee
