International Schools Services (ISS), in collaboration with Shekou International School, is proud to announce the opening of Level 5, a new space for creativity, design and learning in Shenzhen.
Featuring the latest in technology like 3D printers, Arduinos, LittleBits, Apple devices and more, Level 5 is a space for students, parents, teachers and the wider community to unleash their creative potential.
Level 5 will also host events for educators focused on innovation in teaching and learning. The space will be used to explore emerging contemporary practices that break-free from traditional models of schooling. With flexible furniture, moveable walls and writeable surfaces everywhere, educators will be able to experiment with new ideas, tools and spaces in a risk free environment.
"The world has changed dramatically over the past 20 years and yet schools have remained largely the same", said John Burns, Director of Creativity and Innovation for ISS. "Here at Level 5 we have a fantastic opportunity to explore new teaching practices that empower students to become creators of their own authentic learning experiences".
Level 5 will officially launch in January 2016 with a series of 'Make Days'. These workshops are for anyone in Shenzhen and beyond who would like to explore 3D printing, textile design, electronics prototyping, video production, coding and much more.
