Where do we live? How many Chinese provinces are there? In which province do we live? Many students know Guangdong Province, Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau and even Shanghai. But which provinces, direct-controlled municipalities and autonomous regions are there in China? Recently, the French students in grades 4 and 5 have jointly studied a geographical overview of China. Initially, the students converged using a blank map, in which the names of all provinces should be registered and then this map should be painted. At the same time the students had to memorize the Chinese names of the provinces, to identify with an iPad-map correctly. The pronunciation of the provinces names was also practiced. The students were able to get to know Chinese provinces and they are aware of the geographical size of the country. The students of the French center had fun, as they located the appropriate names of the provinces on the iPad-map. It developed into a situation of cooperative work because the students supported each other to assign the desired name of each province on the map correctly. Next time we will introduce the domino maps to get to know more about China and the world.
