SIS teachers participate in continual professional learning (PL) in order to enrich teaching and learning experiences for our students. Each teacher sets professional goals and participates in a variety of PL opportunities to reach those goals. Here are some upcoming PL activities that our teachers will be a part of：
150 educators from around the world will participate in a weekend workshop at Bayside featuring 22 SIS teacher presenters.
- HKIS Literacy Institute
24 SIS teachers will participate in this conference to further their understanding and practice of the reading and writing workshop model.
- Matt Glover
A leading early years educator, Matt Glover will be working with ECLC2-Grade 2 teachers to enhance literacy learning in our classrooms.
- Helena Curtain
An expert on second language acquisition for children, Helena Curtain will be working with our Chinese teachers to enhance our Chinese Program.
- EARCOS Teachers’ Conference
Many of our teachers will be heading to Bangkok to participate in this conference which will be focusing on the science of service learning.
A strong emphasis on professional learning leads to better opportunities and outcomes for all of our students. It’s exciting to be a part of such a strong and active community of learners!
